DON’T USE THE CRUISE!
Fiat Chrysler is advising owners of these vehicles that a software problem could prevent driver’s from turning off the cruise, causing the vehicle to continue to accelerate. If a driver finds themselves in this scary situation, the driver should shift the car into neutral and slow the vehicle down using the brakes.
One incident has been reported and no one was injured. Kudos to Fiat Chrysler for recalling this product immediately and putting consumer safety over profits!
Fiat Chrysler is offering a no-cost software update that will prevent the glitch. Until your vehicle is fixed, don’t use the cruise.
