Another tragedy involving a teenager in Bedford County. The sixteen year old girl was riding in a 1997 Jeep Wrangler when the driver cut the wheel in order to miss a deer. The Jeep ran off the side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned. The passenger was ejected from the vehicle and killed. She was not wearing a seat belt. The Jeep landed on its wheels. The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries and is expected to be okay.
In Virginia, the driver can be ticketed when passengers are not wearing seatbelts.
