More and more insurance companies are using computer databases, where the insurance companies input values of settled cases and cases tried to verdict to determine a value. As you might imagine, these values are usually low.
In my opinion, this is just another way that insurance companies try to save money and attempt to de-value claims. Every accident is different and every claim should be valued based on the unique characteristics of the individuals involved in the accident as well as the circumstances that contributed to the accident.
The value of a case should never be determined by using a “one-size-fits-all” database.
