The Consumer Products and Safety Commission has announced that McDonald’s is voluntarily recalling the “Hello Kitty Birthday Lollipop” whistles.
Pieces of the whistle can come loose and be inhaled by a child playing with the toy.
McDonald’s has received two reports of children coughing up pieces of the whistle. At the time of this posting, no serious injuries have occurred. The CPSC recommends that toy be removed from the child and taken to McDonalds. McDonalds has offered toy replacement, a yogurt tube or a bag of apple slices in exchange for this dangerous toy.
