Mitsubishi, ChryslerFiat, Volkswagen, and Toyota owners take note, these trusted car manufacturers are still knowingly building cars with defective Takata airbags.
Yes, these automakers are building and selling new cars that they know will have to be recalled for a SAFETY DEFECT.
And its not just any SAFETY DEFECT. It’s the safety defect that has been the reason behind the largest automaker recall in history. Over 34 million vehicles in the U.S. and an additional 7 million vehicles worldwide have been recalled. Those numbers will only continue to rise since manufacturers are still using the defective design in new cars.
Ten people have died and over 100 people have suffered serious injuries after a Takata airbag exploded in their vehicles and sent metal shrapnel into the cabin of the vehicle. Several of the victims died when the metal shards were catapulted into their necks and faces and caused uncontrollable bleeding.

If you notice, no 2016 models are on the current list. That’s because while automakers have admitted to using the flawed design in the assembly of some of their 2016 models, they are refusing to identify exactly which models have the dangerous airbags.
When reading this, even I was shocked that it is absolutely LEGAL for the manufacturers to do this. They just have to agree to recall the vehicles by 2018.
Again, they have to recall the vehicles by 2018, they don’t actually have to be fixed by then.
When asked about this questionable practice, Karl Bauer, senior analyst with Kelly Blue Book stated, “This may be the first time in history where multiple automakers are selling brand new cars with a known, and potentially deadly, defect.” Well, I doubt that’s true. But it probably is the first time in history when an automaker freely admitted it.
